Having released his debut single ‘Control’, earlier this year, followed by ‘Win Some Lose Some’ and ‘Are You Out There’ Somerset-based multi-instrumentalist Frequency Cowboy has released Move Closer EP via Dactyl Spondee Records.

A brand new 3-track output titled Move Closer EP see’s Frequency Cowboy expanding upon his unique, distinctive sound, merging his training as a classical pianist with his eccentric blend of indie-pop. Included on the EP is a remix of Frequency Cowboy’s previous hit single ‘Control’, produced by North London electronic artist Badoos, encompassing the track’s original groove, whilst still retaining Badoos’ signature flavour. Move Closer EP was recorded in Bath, UK by Stew Jackson respectively, at the same garden-studio where Massive Attack’s ‘The Spoils’ was recorded.

Frequency Cowboy has enjoyed previous commercial and critical success as a former member of Bristol’s Termites, working with John Parish (PJ Harvey, Eels, Tracy Chapman) and Bruno Ellingham (Massive Attack and New Order,  Maccabees), touring with British Sea Power and recording at the acclaimed Rockfield Studios.

Speaking of Move Closer EP, Frequency Cowboy comments: “Both the songs on the EP were written the year after my Dad died very suddenly. Move Closer is about wanting to try and connect with people but not knowing how. ‘Only Human, is me searching for answers that I know I’ll never find.”
