Known for their ethereal trance collaborations over the years, music producer Vintage & Morelli (Marko Cubric) and singer Arielle Maren have unveiled their album The Light via reputable record label Monstercat. This combination of mellow trance and stellar vocal talent will leave you feeling like you are floating with its airy production. Vintage & Morelli is inspired by the uplifting production stylings of Enigma, Deep Forest and Robert Miles. His independent sound is definitely an invigorating listen, as are his inspirations. Arielle Maren has been supported by the likes of names like Above and Beyond, Armin van Buuren in her early beginnings as a vocalist looking to collaborate with EDM artists. Now Vintage & Morelli and the songstress have crafted an album that celebrates their individuality.
We chatted with music producer Vintage & Morelli & singer Arielle Maren and found out additional information about the album release.
Tell us about your highlights for the year
Definitely ‘The Light’ album that came out this July on Monstercat! We’ve been focusing all our energy on this album for the past two years and are thrilled to finally share it with the world.
If you could paint a picture of your sound, what would it look like?
V&M: Environmental sounds, ethnic elements and signature drums/percussions/baselines.
AM: Poetic and deep lyrics meets airy tones.
What are the 5 albums and artists that have influenced you the most?
Enigma – The Cross of Changes (1993), Deep Forest – Deep Forest (1992), OceanLab – Sirens of the Sea (2008), Secret Garden – Songs from a Secret Garden (1996), Enya – Watermark (1988)
What other artists do you really like at the moment and why?
A.M.R. and Terry Da Libra – Both have very unique sounds, and are great producers as well as dear friends.
How did you get to your first gig ?
VM: 2008 (Belgrade, Serbia) – Through a friend with whom I used to produce with under a different alias.
AM: 2013 (San Antonio, Texas) – I performed live at Club Rio through friends in the scene.
Tell us one interesting fact about yourself that no-one would expect.
V&M: That I am a visual artist as well (Drawing, Photoshop).
AM: That I’ve lived in Finland, Estonia, Spain and Serbia and I speak a bit of each language.
What do you consider your biggest achievement so far?
Most definitely the release of our album on Monstercat! They are true professionals thru and thru.
Famous last words?
VM: What this world needs now is a bit more kindness.
AM: A positive mindset is everything. Anything is possible when you believe!
