You are picturing the experiences you will have on your next trip or hang out with friends as you packing your bags for the occasion. Suddenly the anxiety of not seeing them for the last few months kicks in and you wonder if your bond will be as strong as it was before you planned your trip. You scroll through old photos of yourself with friends and begin reminiscing about the amazing times you have experienced with your friends before, suddenly your anxiety turns into excitement as you head out the door. The latest song ‘Too Late’ from DJ Felix Cartal and avant-pop singer KROY embody that feeling of emotional distance in the many relationships of your life, which perfectly sums up that feeling of anxiety and hope about whether you can pick up where you left off.
The song is one of many to feature on Cartal’s highly upcoming album release via Physical Presents. Cartal was previously featured on Sound Lab with his single ‘My Last Song’ with Hanne Mjoen. He previously shared his thoughts about his forthcoming album release on socials: “okay… this has been so hard to keep a secret. My new album EXPENSIVE SOUNDS FOR NICE PEOPLE is coming out on JUNE 25! I have been quietly working on this thing for the past 3 years, and it’s truly been a labour of love getting it absolutely perfect. I’m nervous, I’m excited, and gone a little crazy having to keep it quiet for this long. I hope you love it like I do…”
‘Too Late’ has the ingredients of a dance-pop tune to dance along with or hum consistently once the music has stopped, but adding cosmic vocalist KROY into the mix makes the listener do a double-take. Her glossy vocals soar and glide with Cartal’s smooth production. Cartal has really outdone himself with the varied range that each featured artist brings to his production. Each track is guaranteed to have separate personalities and worlds on this upcoming album release this month.
