English Alternative pop artist Déyyess, based in London tackles the issue of self esteem and inner confidence in her new single ‘Control’ released on 20 February. The music video for which depicts the artist herself laying on her back in a dark room, as rays of light move over her body. While a young woman dressed in exactly the same attire dances through the light, as if to represent the spirit of the quietly desperate artist trapped by her own on the bed.

Lyrically the song is about standing up for yourself, not allowing a person or circumstance to define what you’re capable of. When speaking about the song, Déyyess explained, “It’s an important issue for me. If you have never felt trapped in your life somehow you might not get it, but that’s ok.”
