We chatted with the dynamic talent – Snyder below.

Tell us about your highlights for the year

My album In the Dark is finally dropping on 2/26. It’s taken me a long time to put together, I have some great artists on the lineup. I’m pumped to share with everybody. Praying we can get back to shows soon, I’ve been really fortunate to headline some virtual festivals but missing the fans’ energy so much that’s what I live for.

If you could paint a picture with of your sound, what would it look like?

It would probably be really broad, abstract strokes with a lot of blue and vibrant colors.

What are the 5 albums and artists that have influenced you the most?

Oh man, I actually just did this on Instagram. In no particular order – My Dark Twisted Fantasy – Kanye West, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road – Elton John, Carte Blanche – DJ Snake, Voodoo Lounge – Rolling Stones, Alive – Daft Punk. I listened to so many different styles of music growing up all of these albums really influenced who I am and what I think music could be.

What other artists do you really like at the moment and why?

Biscits has been a favorite, as well as Volac and Tchami are always on my playlists.

How did you get to your first gig and how was it?

My first professional gig was given to me by a good friend, he had a spot on the underbill and let me open. I thought it was the best day of my life. The club was in NYC – Le Souk, I used to go there all the time, so to be able to play and capture that energy was such a good feeling. Really intoxicating

Tell us one interesting fact about yourself that no-one would expect.

I’m insane with names, if you made an impact on me odds are I remember your first name, last name, and your face. In any given (normal) year we play so many shows, I think it would surprise people how many booking agents, sound techs, roadies, I can remember. It’s a tight-knit scene too a lot of it comes full circle across the country playing a show with the same crew.

What do you consider your biggest achievement so far?

I’m really proud to say I have done all that I have 100% independently. I’ve always wanted to remain independent and make all of the creative decisions related to my music, it’s a good feeling to have that control when you care so much about your art

Famous last words?
