Emerging UK singer-songwriter Bea Elmy Martin has just released her new single ‘Lost’ on August 21, 2025, her first material since dropping the debut album Under the Yew back in May. Based in London, Bea has been turning heads in the alt-pop circuit with her folk-pop style, picking up early airplay from BBC Radio 1 host Jack Saunders and BBC Radio 6‘s Lauren Laverne, along with shoutouts from mags like Clash and Wonderland. The album, tracked over two years in her home city with producer Dominick J Goldsmith from trip-hop outfit HÆLOS, got props for its sharp focus and layered emotional punch, solidifying her as a storyteller with real edge.
‘Lost’ leans into folk-pop with alt-pop layers, mixing soul-tinged elements and reflective folk for a sound that’s raw and controlled. It kicks off minimal, spotlighting Bea‘s vocal work before easing into fuller production, giving it that organic push from lyrics that hit in one go.
Born from a burst of ideas where words came before the tune, the single highlights Bea‘s growth in blending spontaneity with her tight craft. Teaming again with Goldsmith, it draws from introspective folk and pop influences, pushing her deeper into vulnerability while keeping that assured restraint. Bea Elmy Martin shared: “‘Lost’ is about that feeling of drifting. The way we all move between being grounded and then suddenly untethered. But it’s also about the things that bring us back to ourselves. For me, that anchor is writing and music”.
