Scoring over 21 million streams on Triller, “a little bit bored” is quickly becoming one of Syence’s most popular releases to date.  The single peaked at #3 on the Billboard Triller chart in December 2020 and has received incredible support on the platform. Contributing to the success of the track are the breathtaking vocals from singer/songwriter Ruuth whose resume includes co-writing the BTS track “Life Goes On,” which peaked  #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. After realizing the song’s momentum following its inclusion in NYX Cosmetics’s spring 2021 product drop event on Triller, Syence immediately caught the eye of HITCO Entertainment, L.A. Reid’s disruptive new entertainment venture that is home to the likes of SAINt JHN, Dixie D’Amelio, and Yella Beezy.

Syence mentions about the  single, “Ruuth and Quarterhead sent us the original demo for ‘a little bit bored’ and we were immediately obsessed. We knew we had to work on it. We’ve never been so impressed with a vocal. The story that Ruuth is able to tell in the short time throughout the song really resonated with us and made it so easy to build out the production around the vocal.”

Ruuth adds,”I really get turned off by the type of people who text me with way too many emojis and act too needy. When Quarterhead, Syence, and Chris James echoed that they had similar experiences, we immediately felt that we had a fun concept going. Now, with the pandemic, it feels even more right to re-evaluate the types of relationships we want to keep and the ones we want to let go of.”

An emerging EDM/Pop duo based in Los Angeles, Syence is gaining global recognition for their unique blend of electronic bass pop music and have consistently produced chart-topping singles with their hit “We Won’t Leave You”, which has racked in over 11 million Spotify streams and was featured on Spotify’s Viral Top 50 playlist at the time of release. Boasting over 50 million streams across platforms, the duo began making music in college and have since gone on to perform alongside the industry’s most prominent acts including Gryffin, Cash Cash, Arty, and Bingo Players. Not only is their music gaining recognition across streaming platforms, it has also been featured in sync campaigns with the likes of Netflix, MTV, Toyota, and Google. Following the release of their new single, Syence is scheduled to perform alongside Whethan at an exclusive drive-in event in Anaheim on Saturday, March 20th.

From the northern island of Wyk auf Foehr in Germany, Ruuth, born Alina Paulsen, spent much of her time in choirs and musical rehearsals. Her debut single “All About” hit #1 on blog aggregator Hype Machine, along with press accolades from the likes of We Found New Music, Indie Shuffle, and ZEIT Magazin. More recently, Ruuth co-wrote Billboard Hot 100 #1 (and Global 200 #1) song, “Life Goes On” by BTS, and Ruuth’s EP single, “Wake Up As You” was handpicked by Pharrell to be featured in SoundCloud’s i am OTHER compilation. Ruuth has spent most of her time writing music with the likes of Micah Premnath (Selena Gomez, Felix Jaehn), Albin Nedler (Avicii, Martin Garrix), Emmit Fenn (Billie Eilish, Gallant), and others. From landing a K-Pop writing cut on TXT’s ‘Eternally,’ to being featured on Dayo’s ‘Mockingbirds’ (which was synced in a German Coca Cola summer campaign and charted in the German Top 200 radio charts), to supporting DONSKOY’s sold out 2019 Germany tour, Ruuth doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon.
